Ahh, school 🙂 Remember what it was like to sit in class for 8 hours and then take a 2 hour exam? What about two or three exams in one week? What about when you passed with flying colors?! All worth it!! Quite a few folks from our office, including myself, attended the Advanced Digital Rights training and passed our examinations with Google this week. I also completed the YouTube Audience Growth certification and exam. Now THAT was a lot of material to absorb! Rene, our Co-Founder and COO, has been working with YouTube longer than perhaps anyone else in the music industry, but for the rest of us, it has been quite illuminating. With the rest of the gang sitting for their exams in the next few days, upon passing (fingers crossed) our company will then be YouTube certified. It will certainly be a milestone we will be proud of!
We are stoked to have been featured on Billboard today via a Q/A with Leila Cobo. She asked a few important questions about how a publisher or label can put their best foot forward on YouTube and we were happy to share.

NARIP also featured a solid Q/A we gave with Tess Taylor on how one might be able to make and monetize covers (legally) on YouTube.

What do you think? Did we leave anything out?

Finally, we are keen to let our hair down a bit. We are still a few weeks out, but we are just so excited to party a bit, that we had to let you know.

The line-up for the Twilight Summer Series at Santa Monica Pier was just released and we’ll be there! Look out for the BIG red balloon Q……

Working in the music industry so often has us toiling away while the show is going off and we miss the thrill of some of what makes our job so much fun. Well, this effort hopes to remedy that, as industry folks, far and wide, are invited to come round to enjoy some incredible music, an adult beverage, and a beautiful Southern California sunset. Please do bring an interesting friend! The concerts are always free, although parking and traffic can often be a pain. Stay tuned for updates and specifics.

I hope you have a safe and restful holiday weekend!

Stay close,

Aaron
