You may know that the Department of Justice is currently preparing to review the consent decree, as I reported last week in an interview with Danielle Aguirre of the National Music Publishers Association.

In the next installment in this series of interviews covering the sensitive topic, I reached out to Atlas Music Publishing CEO, Rich Stumpf.

How much should writers and publishers get paid? Is the consent decree simply to antiquated to work? What about mass licensing and a free market for publishing? Would this sort of scenario make building a music tech company cost prohibitive?

These questions and more are answered in the video interview (23 minutes)
